SK Gaming in Pre-EGL Interview
Kicking off our EGL pre-event coverage, we have sat down with one of
the most talked about teams to go to this event. We sit down with SK
Gaming's Tobi "Tobi" Foster, Daniel "Godlike" Beams and their manager
Sam "SammyK" Kendall. So let's kick this off!

Decerto: Hi guys, thanks for taking the time out to do the interview! EGL is only a few days away, you feeling nervous?

Godlike: Hell yeah. We haven't been very active recently, and we're
starting to realise the competition, and how we are going to get
smacked if we don't put some work into it. So right now we're pretty
nervous.

Tobi: Little bit. We haven't practised enough with our new 4. We barely
scrim this could cost us, but we know that individually we're good
enough so we will see.

Sammy: I'm nervous as I'm not playing.



Decerto: Do you not feel nervous that you picked this team up and
helped them into one of the world's best known gaming organisations
Surely a poor result would also reflect badly on you Sammy?

Sammy: Not really as I have complete faith in this side and they have
already proven themselves online with their records. What ever result
we gain from this event makes no difference to SK as they know this is
the first lan event for the team and the last for Call of Duty 4 and
they should be proud of whatever result we get from this event.



Decerto: Do you guys feel under more pressure playing for SK than when you did on your own as RxG?

Godlike: Yeah definately, but I think it makes us play better as a
team. When we were RxG, we weren't too bothered about winning or
losing, but when we got picked up by huge orgs, we knew we would need
to improve dramatically. I don't think we've reached our peak yet, but
we will soon.

Tobi: Not really, we want to represent SK to the best we can however no
one from SK has asked us to acheive anything we dont think is possible.
Under RxG the pressure was huge, we had to show the Decerto world we
were no longer a gb team and could hang with the big boys.

Godlike: Yeah that's a good point made by Tobi. When we were just RxG
we had to prove ourselves to the whole community, to show everyone that
we were worthy of that top 8 spot. Now that we are 'hanging with the
big boys" it does take part of the fun away.



Decerto: So let's talk EGL. You have IX in the first round and as we
all know they knocked you out the CSL Lime tournament recently. What
are your thoughts on meeting them in your first game?

Godlike: Well it's a bummer to be honest. I think we'll be fine on the
domo, and we won't be fine on the sabo, so it's all down to the SnD.
Luck will decide this one.

Tobi: Can't wait to get our revenge. Last time we played them we had
our worst two maps vacant snd and overgrown sabo. We gave that game
away, IX are a strong team so this time we won't underestimate them and
will hopefully come out on top.



Decerto: Who do you see as the biggest competition?

Godlike: Erm, either TCM or Infused. If we don't reach the final, I can see those two teams fighting for first place.

Tobi: Not sure there are alot of strong teams, if I had to pick one I
would say TCM, although if TI was going I think they would have walked
it.

Godlike: Yeah TI would of ran away with the competition without a doubt.

Sammy: I would say TCM for the final as they're still one of the strongest teams out there.



Decerto: Tobi and Godlike, neither of you ever have been to LAN, what are your expectations?

Godlike: Well, I'll either go huge or get shat on. My connection is
horrible. I play on a standard definition TV and I use X1's, and I'm
going to be on a HD monitor with either steel series or astros, on a
perfect connection. So it could go either way, depending how quickly I
adapt to the new equipment. I think Tobi will boss it!

Tobi: I don't expect alot out of this lan but this will be good
practice for MW2. Don't get me wrong we can win but I dont expect us
too and I would be over the moon with 3rd.



Decerto: Who are you looking forward to meeting the most?

Godlike: Well, as I established earlier, it's not Rumsey. I just can't
wait to meet the team, and especially ShammyK. It's going to be a fun
couple of days meeting people that I've been speaking too for like 2
years.

Tobi: Minstry Gaming, all sound lads well easy to get on with, wish
Youngblood was going but don't think he is, apart from that Necrome.
Of course the whole SK team.

Sammy: Everyone that knows me!



Decerto: Ok well that's the end of the interview! Thanking you for
taking the time out to do this. Any famous last words that we can quote
you on in the EGL follow-up interview?

Godlike: It's a bit risky, but I'm gonna go ahead and say we will come
top 18. And if we lose to IX, and then again to them in the losers
bracket, I will literally cry.

Tobi: Do we get our astros there or do they get delivered?

Sammy: Got nothing to say!
