Steve Ballmer, CEO of a little company
called Microsoft who make a device called the Xbox 360, made a serious
announcement today at the Executive Club in Chicago where he discussed
the importance of innovation during his time on stage. Ballmer, among
other things said that “a new Xbox will hit store shelves in 2010″.
The Microsoft CEO made this statement according to the TG Daily live blog today and got many gamers and press members very excited after all the rumors and claims from the 1Up team as we have previously reported.
It seems to be confirmed that the “new” Xbox will come with a build in
motion sensor (Project Natal anyone?) which will recognize movement and
voice.
From the sounds of it we will be
getting a re-launched Xbox 360 with Microsofts latest technology build
in for the 2010 holiday season. Surely the motion sensor can be bought
as an add on as previously confirmed by Microsoft. The question is,
will the ‘NEW XBOX’ have upgraded hardware? Or will it be a completely
new console with significant upgrades. Microsoft has some explaining to
do!
